How to Read: Point of View

Narrator—3rd person

A 3rd-person narrator determines how much we know and which characters we identify with.

Omniscient: we are privy to thoughts of all characters so identify with none in particular.

Limited Omniscient: we identify closely with characters to whose thoughts we are privy.

Objective: we are privy to no character's thoughts, so we identify only with those whose behavior accords with our own values.
